Admin HistoryIn 1795 twelve caryatids based on those of the Erechtheion and made of patent stone at Mrs Coade's manufactory in Lambeth were ordered by Soane for the dome of his rotunda at a cost of £200. A further dozen were ordered (cost £252) for the Transfer Office in 1799. All were temporarily removed during the interwar rebuilding. The 1795 set can now be seen in the Museum's rotunda.

DescriptionThe images show the gatekeeper and other men. The cart has B. Goodman Ltd on it.
