Description | Black album containing 9 images of the Committee of London Clearing Bankers' evacuation to a dance hall within the grounds of Trentham Hall in Staffordshire. Images show an exterior view of the evacution site as well as interior views of men and women working in large hall. Bundles of banknotes can be seen in many of the images as well as counting machinery and typewriters. Included on the first page of the album is a description of 'How Britain's Cheques were cleared in War-Time'. Photographs were produced for Burroughs Adding Machine Ltd. |
