Schemes include Hecuba and Priam - floating pound measures to protect sterling as a result of realignment of exchange rate parities; Bootstrap renamed Androcles - mobilisation of UK owned foreign currency assets; Brutus and Cranmer - blocking of sterling balances because the official reserves are running out; Telemachus - a scheme to combat withdrawal of sterling balances by individual countries; Polonius - control of inflows; and Brandon and Mini-Brandon - introduction of exchange control against countries in the sterling area.
