Admin HistoryGuidance on the regulation of the wholesale markets in sterling, foreign exchange and bullion was first published in 1986 following consultation between the Bank and HM Treasury (HMT) after the introduction of the Financial Services Act 1986. A consultative document was produced in December 1986 and a revised paper issued in July 1987. This series consists of the subsequent revision in 1988 and separate issues of the London Code of Conduct for principals and broking firms in the wholesale markets, in 1990 and 1992, including list of exempt money market institutions under section 43 of the Act.
