Admin History | Central Gilts Office Project was established by the Bank, Stock Exchange and their solicitors, Freshfields. The CGO administrative unit of the Bank was responsible for the day to day operation of the book-entry transfer system (BET). The Legal Sub-Committee was set up to monitor and review the progress towards the implementation of procedures, constitutional, regulatory and legislative measures necessary to secure a viable legal framework for the operation of the book-entry system. Meetings were held at the Bank's offices in New Change and the final meeting was held on 23 June 1982. |
