Admin HistoryThe Dean Ryle's Fund was set up in response to an appeal by the Dean of Westminster for 'funds for the purpose of the Collegiate Church of St Peter Westminster and the ancient buildings attached thereto and held therewith the Cloisters and precincts thereof'. Montagu Norman (Governor of the Bank of England) was one of the three appointed trustees.
DescriptionContains three unsigned copies of the same trust deed. Note in front of one copy says 'the Trust Deed was signed in duplicate; one is with the Royal Bank of Scotland, Western Branch, the other with the Westminster Abbey authorities'; signed indemnity given by the Royal Bank of Scotland to the Governor of the Bank of England in the event of any losses to investments of the Dean Ryle's Fund held by the Royal Bank of Scotland under the authority of the Governor of the Bank of England.
