Admin History | The report was commissioned by the Chairman of the Stock Exchange.The working party first met in April 1968 under the Chairmanship of Roy Ernest Heasman, Chief Accountant of the Bank. The terms of reference were: 'To examine the present methods of processing dealings in securities and of recording and transferring holdings in the light of current developments in data processing. To determine what improvements can be made in the present procedures and in what ways they should be adapted or amended. To examine possible alternative forms of procedure. To make recommendations involving if necessary changes in relative legislation and to report'. The members of the working party came from the Bank and from other City institutions. |
