Admin History | At the time the Bank advances were made to the firm Gronik Papazian's Sons the partners were: Hamayak Papazian (of 30, Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury, Manchester); Setrack Papazian (of Roustchouk, Bulgaria); Hrand Papazian (of 30, Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury, Manchester) and Gronik Papazian (of Badford Place, London) - each of them Armenian nationals. In Feb 1924, it came to the attention of the Bank that Hamayak Papazian had disposed of the firm's assets in Dec 1922 and gone to live in Geneva. Upon this news, the Bank began pursuing the four partners for the debt which at this point totalled £25,731-13s-3d (including interest). After exhaustive enquiries the Bank was advised that it would only be able to claim back £3000 (a sum lent to the debtors by a friend specifically for this purpose). The offer was eventually accepted by the Bank in Mar 1926, less £240 deducted by the lawyers in Geneva. |
