Admin History | A letter from Sir George Lewis French Bolton, then Chairman of Bank of London and South America (BOLSA), to Governor Cameron Fromanteel Cobbold, Baron Cobbold in July 1960 prompted the re-establishment of a Bank working party on export finance. Their deliberations eventually led, via proposals to establish a new institution, Export Finance Corporation (which foundered with the Clearers), to the Bank's scheme for refinancing part of the finance provided by banks for certain export transactions introduced in February 1961. |
