| Activity | Dallas Bernard was educated at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth. Before joining the Bank he had held senior positions with various companies including Jardine Matheson and Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. He became a Director of the Bank in 1936, and an Executive Director in 1939. From 1949 to 1954, Bernard was Deputy Governor. After leaving the Bank he held several directorships and was Chairman of Coutaulds (1962 - 1964) and British Bank of the Middle East (1954 - 1965). |
