Activity | Maurice Parsons (Kt 1966, KCMG 1970) joined the Bank in 1928. He was the Governor's Private Secretary from 1939 to 1943. After the war he held various position with international monetary organisations, as was Director of Operations at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) between 1947 and 1950. In 1950 Parsons was appointed Deputy Chief Cashier, and he was later Assistant to the Governors. In 1957 he was made the Executive Director with responsibility for overseas matters. When Leslie O'Brien became Governor in 1966, Parsons succeeded him as Deputy Governor. He left the Bank in 1970 to be Chairman of the Bank of London and South America (BOLSA). |
