Activity | In 1966 a Committee on Invisible Exports was set up, led by the Bank, which produced a report in 1967 titled: 'Britain's Invisible Earnings'.
The Bank and the British National Export Council established a permanent Committee on Invisible Exports in 1968. Its task was to suggest and, where possible, implement measures to encourage invisible earnings in the light of the conclusions and recommendations of the Bland Report. In 1983 the Committee on Invisible Exports became the British Invisible Exports Council (BIEC). The BIEC (registered as a company) became British Invisibles (BI) in 1990 and International Financial Services London (IFSL) in 2001.
The Committee was reconstituted in 1986 as an incorporated not-for profit company limited by guarantee. |
