Activity | Cox and Co could trace its origins back to 1758 and it operated under various names until becoming Cox and Co in 1834. It was an important provider of private banking facilities to army officers. Business declined after the First World War and the bank was damaged by its involvement in cotton finance. At the request of the Bank of England, Lloyds Bank acquired Cox and Co in 1923. |
