Activity | The Commonwealth Development Finance Company (CDFC) originated out of the Commonwealth Economic Conference of 1952. Its purpose was to provide finance for economic development and business enterprises in less developed areas of the Commonwealth. It was established in 1953, with the Bank holding 41% of CDFC's nominal capital. The company was purchased by the Ensign Trust, a subsidiary of the Merchant Navy Officers' Pension Fund, in 1986 and liquidated in 1987. |
