Activity | Dudley Allen was born in Malaya in 1919. He was educated at Charterhouse and then Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. On the 3rd August 1939 he joined the army, and saw service in the Middle East, India, Burma and Malaya with the Royal Corps of Signals. He reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He joined the Bank on 29th July 1947, reached the rank of Assistant Principal in August 1951, and became an Assistant to the Chief Cashier in August 1952, when he was seconded for a year to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. On his return, he joined the Discount Office and later became Assistant Chief Cashier and Deputy Chief Cashier. He retired on 1st December 1970. |
