Admin History | The Overbury Estate, near Tewkesbury, of which Overbury Court was a part, was the property of the Holland-Martin family (Edward Holland-Martin was a Director from 1933-1948). The Bank acquired, at the outset of the war, certain options to use the estate for accommodating evacuated staff. Arrangements were made for official sleeping accommodation for 170 staff; in fact the only Bank personnel to use the location were 30 typists and one senior man from Establishment Department. |
