| Admin History | In 1960 the Bank began to publish a Quarterly Bulletin, following one of the recommendations of the Radcliffe Committee on the Working of the Monetary System (Cmnd 827, August 1959). The Economic Intelligence Department (until 1964 effectively part of the Central Banking Information Department) was responsible for the Bulletin. |
| Description | The bulletin customarily contains an economic commentary and a financial review; articles, notices and speeches; and a statistical annex. There is a list of contents at the beginning of each year's volume, and an index at the end. An unpublished prototype (Volume 0 Number 0) was prepared in September 1960.
Post 1998 copies of the Bulletin and associated files appear in the catalogue as part of the new classification scheme started in 2000 when it was no longer appropriate to group items by department or division. See reference 0A42
From July 2016 onwards, the Quarterly Bulletin would be published in digital format only on the Bank's website. See reference 17A59. |
