| Admin History | Bagwell, a stockbroker, had been persuaded to sign as a witness to a forged signature on a transfer deed which he admitted he had not seen executed. The request had come from Thomas Ford, a clerk in the 4% Annuities Office, who later absconded on account of various frauds. The Bank sought to recover from Bagwell the amount lost by the forgery. |
