| Description | These papers record the Warren Forgeries case. Four Americans (George Bidwell, Austin Bidwell, George MacDonnell [MacDonald] and Edwin Noyes) were convicted in 1873 of committing a substantial fraud on the Western Branch by forging and uttering Bills of Exchange. The bulk of the material is from Freshfields but papers from the Chief Cashier's Office have been added to provide a fuller picture of events. |
