TitleGOVERNOR'S FILE: ROYAL MAIL LINES
Date5 Mar 1932 - 26 Oct 1934
DescriptionScheme of Arrangement for Royal Mail Lines, 1932. Consideration of proposals for a new Scheme on expiry of the 1932 Scheme in Dec 1934.

G1/82-96: These papers are concerned mainly with the financial troubles of the shipping industry during the early part of the 1930's. They have been arranged so far as possible under headings of the principal shipping companies involved but the affairs of all those companies - and others - became so intermingled that references to them appear throughout the whole series of papers. Other shipping companies, apart from those which appear as headings, to which frequent references are made are: The International Mercantile Marine; Shaw Savill; Albion Co Ltd; The White Star Line; Union Castle Mail Steamship Co Ltd; Elder Dempsterines; and mention is also made of two shipbuilding companies, namely John Brown & Co Ltd, and Harland & Wolff.
