Admin HistoryThe 'Collective Approach' referred to in this and subsequent files in this series was a combination of trade and monetary policy which served as guidance to the Commonwealth from 1952 onwards. It represented a major endeavour to organise the economic world outside the Soviet Bloc on the basis of a liberal trade and payments policy, with convertibility of sterling as a major objective.
