Admin History | In 1928 Lord Inchcape gave around £500,000 to the Nation in memory of his daughter Elsie Mackay, to accumulate for 50 years and then be used to reduce the National Debt. The Governor was a Managing Trustee. The Fund was closed in December 1978 and the total amount held in it was handed to the Treasury. |
