DescriptionContains papers, mainly reports, letters and directions from the Committee of Building (some pasted in), regarding the warming of Bank buildings, including the £5 Notes Office and Dividend Pay Office; properties in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Gloucester, Bristol, Newcastle, and Birmingham; building over the Dividend Pay and Silver Offices; repair of Lothbury Court; accountant's new Drawing Office; 3 1/2 Per Cent Office's strong room; correspondence concerning sewers and drains running under the Bank at Threadneedle Street (20 Apr 1836 to 27 Apr 1836); the cleaning of offices; the new street to Moorgate and improvements in Old Jewry; the 'New Building'; transferring the Chancery and Cash Book Office to the late Drawing Office; a let to the Croydon Railway Company; and purchasing of property in Old Jewry. Most of the content was created by Mr CR Cockerell of Cockerell, Smirke & Rennie. Includes contents page and some plans.
