| Description | Papers sent to the Bank on the death of H Carson Andrews by his executors, in October 1974. He had been a member of the Bank's staff from 1901 to 1935. There are a number of letters relating to his duties of accompanying consignments of gold. The file also contains a copy of 'Rules and Orders for Clerks' and a note giving him authority to enrol as a Special Constable in 1926. Biographical details, extracts from various histories about the movement of gold at that time and a note Special constables have been added to the papers. |
