DescriptionThe Britannia Quarterly (BQ) was first published in June 1919 as a sporting and social diary for the Bank of England Printing Works at St Luke's in Old Street. The BQ appeared regularly (a war-time interruption between 1939 to 1949 excepted) until the final issue in July 1993. The BQ published items of domestic interest, sports reports, notes from sections of the Britannia Club and other contributions including articles, stories, poems, drawings and photographs. The names and dates of Editors are as follows: Jun 1919 - May 1931 H D de Fraine; Aug 1931 - Aug 1939 A D MacKenzie; Nov 1950 - Nov 1955 S E Boston; Feb 1956 - Feb 1958 L S Laskey; May 1958 - Aug 1969 A F Coldicott; Nov 1969 - Autumn 1980 B C Crowder; Winter 1980/1 - Spring 1984 E W Hills; Summer 1984 - July 1993 A D Butler. The BQ was replaced by Britannia News commencing August 1993 under the editorial control of Mrs C Y Marshall.
