1. Letters from Benjamin B. Greene to Sir Mark Wilks Collet, Mr. Lidderdale and the Governor [Albert Sandeman].
Letters cover topics including the Baring crisis, Russian money, Gladstone's remarks on 'bi-metallism', the Bank's owing of securities, Freshfield's preparation of the Supplemental Charter, the ratio of fixed securities, Japanese money, Japanese gold and calculations of reserves, the United States (US) and the possibility of their issuing gold bonds, political views about Turkey, discussion of the option of taking 'cheap' money off the market, Bankers' deposits, the reduction of Bankers' balances, the ratio of fixed securities to deposits, the new River Share and the London County Council (LCC), the Bank of France and her gold and note position, the sale of fixed securities, deposits and reserves and the desiderability or otherwise of raising rates, the Bank rate, the sale of consols and reduction in fixed secirities, the release by the Indian Government of rupees held against notes, the purchase of silver, the taking up of lapsed issues.

2. Bank securities
Includes a memorandum by Benjamin Greene, covering fixed securities and the ratio to deposits, 28 May 1895, statements of securities belonging to the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, statements with figures of Government and other securities, notes on topics in connection with securities.

3. Advances to stock exchange
Includes items such as statements of money lent on the Stock Exchange and figures in connection with loan to stock brokers under the 'Stock Exchange Rate'.

4. Committee for Branch Banks
Includes report to the Court of Directors on the Committee for Branch Banks; 'Statement of the average amounts of deposits, discounts and advances, and of the amounts of interest received on Discounts and Advances, for the 10 years 1886 to 1895'; Statement of losses at the branches between 1 Mar 1885 and 29 Feb 1896.

5. Increased issues to take the place of lapsed country issues
Includes a number of memoranda on the topic of increased issues, to take the placed of lapsed country issues, 1897.

6. Regulations affecting discounts
Includes memorandum on the topic of Discount Regulations, for Court of Directors meeting of 6 Nov 1851; memoranda covering 'Regulations affecting discounters and bills discounted', 'Regulations affecting discounts and advances upon bills' and 'Regulations affecting Discounts and advances in the Discount Office', dating from 1851 and 1872.

7. Payment of dividends by post
Includes memorandum on 'Interim regulations for unregistered transfers: completed and blank', 24 Apr 1894; report of the Committee appointed to consider the further communication from the Chancellor of the Exchequer to the Governors, with reference to the payment of the public dividends, Jul 1869.

8. A number of miscellaneous items, including:
- A list of joint stock companies that have drawing accounts with the Bank of England, prepared by the Discount Office, 29 May 1872.
- A calculation and comment on bills discounted in London and elsewhere, 1877 and 1878.
- Correspondence between Mr. Trower and Sir M. W. Collet, on the topic of Mr George D'Aquila Lawrence's investments, and list of such investments, Nov 1895.
- Copy of Draft of Bank of England Supplemental Charter, 21 Jul 1896 and Supplemental Charter, 19 Aug 1896.
- Memorandum showing Bank rate, amounts of bills discounted at Bank rate and Bills Discounted below Bank rate, 1878-1882.
- Memorandum on profits of Issue (no date).
