Description | This volume contains the the main minutes of the Committee for Building, covering a wide range of matters relating to the Bank of England's buildings, including its branches. These include: notes of Committee members attending each meeting; copies of reports and correspondence; lists of bills laid before the Committee; quarterly reports to Court; Cockerell's reports of building work in progress; land purchases and sales; rents and leases of Bank properties. Mr Hardwick took over from Cockerell as the Bank's Architect in 1855.This volume includes correspondence with the Corporation of London about the widening of Prices Street and the formation of a new street to Moorgate.
