Costs for each month are listed under two sections: 'Building bills under the Surveyor' includes costs of employing trades including, clock maker, cabinet maker, plumber, painter, mason, carpenter, ironmonger, smith, etc; 'Miscellaneous bills' includes costs for wax, victualler, newspaper advertisements, upholsterers, brushwood, Porters' clothing, oil, coal, paper, candles, etc. Ledger also contains some price lists and papers relating to contracts and suppliers' estimates.
