Costs for each month are listed under two sections: 'Building bills under the Surveyor' includes costs of employing trades including, clock maker, cabinet maker, plumber, painter, mason, carpenter, ironmonger, smith, etc; 'Miscellaneous bills' includes costs for wax, victualler, newspaper advertisements, upholsterers, brushwood, Porters' clothing, oil, coal, paper, candles, etc. Figures at back of ledger giving prices over a 19 year period (1834 - 1852) for 'Mr Cockerell's Commission, London and Branches'.
