Includes, memo of the duties of the Architect of the Bank; analysis of water in the Bank's wells; hours of business at the branches; names of clerks 'struck off the list' (sacked) and reasons for dismissal e.g.: stealing, mental infirmity; statistics giving average number of days bank notes of each denomination (£5, £10, £20 to £100, £200 to £500 and £1000) have remained in circulation (1831 to 1896); Bank donations to public charities (1845 - 1870); report on protecting the Bank against fire; Mr Miller's estimates of total amount of gold currency in the United Kingdom (1844); removal of human remains in the garden of the Bank re: the burial ground of the old church of Christopher le Stocks (1867); address to Mr Adams (the American Minister) expressing the regret of the merchants and bankers of the City of London on the news of the assassination of President Lincoln; dates of opening of Bank branches; Freshfields report on the prosecution for forging and uttering bank notes (1851); providing uniforms for the Bank of England Division of the Civil Service Rifles Volunteers, led by Captain Currie (militia) (1866); printed regulations of the Clerks' Guarantee Fund (established 8 Apr 1841); list of claims enforced on the Clerks' Guarantee Fund between 1843 - 1891, includes names of Bank staff and details of their misdemeanours that led to the fund paying out; memo of arms and ammunition kept by the Bank (1867); typed and printed copies of the oaths of allegiance, supremacy and abjuration of the Governors
