[a] As a result of the implementation of reforms to the Bank's money market operations, to be launched on 18 May, this series will be updated for the last time in the May 2006 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics (Bankstats). From the June 2006 edition, there will be new series covering Monetary Policy Implementation. An article detailing the changes to published statistics as a result of money market reform will also be published in the June 2006 edition.
[b] The increase in these balances from May 2006 onwards reflects the implementation of the Bank of England's Money Market Reforms.
