The Bank is not responsible for how the information contained in any of the Resources is used, how it is interpreted or what reliance is placed on it. No user should act or refrain from acting on the information contained in the Resources without first verifying the information and obtaining professional advice.

We do not guarantee that the Resources will be available at all times, or that they are free from errors or viruses. Data downloaded is done so at your own risk. We recommend that you take adequate measures to protect your own system.

The Bank reserves the right to terminate or restrict user access to the Resources if it determines that a user is acting in a manner contrary to the interests of other users, e.g. excessive use.

Links to other sites are provided for your convenience, but the Bank accepts no responsibility or liability for the content of those sites or of any external site which links to this site.

Any dispute arising out of use of the Resources or these terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England, and the user and the Bank submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. The Bank's omission to exercise any right under these terms and conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right.

Rules about linking to our site

You may link to our website, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it.

You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists.

You must not establish a link to our site in any website that is not owned by you.

Our site must not be framed on any other site, nor may you create a link to any part of our site other than the home page.

The Bank will endeavour to acknowledge third-party copyright. If third-party copyright has not been properly acknowledged, please notify us at the address below so that we can make the appropriate arrangements. 

You may (and unless otherwise specifically stated, such as in the case of the Rulebook and the Database, where terms concerning re-use are set out below at ‘PRA Rulebook’ and ‘Bank of England Database’ respectively) download, display or print the Resources for personal use or internal use within an individual organisation for non-commercial purposes.

Where Bank Resources include or are comprised of third party copyright materials, the copyright of that material remains with the originating organisation and any re-use is subject to the separate approval of the relevant third party.

Bank of England Database

The Bank has taken care to ensure that, as far as possible, the information supplied in the Database and statistical releases is correct. However no warranty, express or implied, is given as to its accuracy or completeness.

The Bank reserves the right to change the information published, the time of publication and the methods used to generate the information without notice. The Bank gives no assurance that information currently published will continue to be published in the future, or that information currently on the website will continue to be published.

The information made available via the Database is the copyright of the Governor and Company of the Bank, unless otherwise stated. Reproduction of data in the Database is subject to the terms of the UK Open Government Licence, allowing and encouraging free and flexible data reuse. 

Please note that selected exchange rate data and series are excluded from this licence as they are reproduced by the Bank under licence from third parties. In these instances, you are advised to contact us directly for permission if you wish to reproduce this information.

Data relating to monetary financial institutions in the Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey are the copyright of the Isle of Man Treasury, Guernsey Financial Services Commission and Jersey Financial Services Commission respectively. We make such data available under licence from the relevant institution.

Acknowledgement is also made to the banks and other institutions (including the Office for National Statistics) that make material available to the Bank or which have allowed the Bank to reprint statistics compiled by them or have assisted the Bank in the collection of statistics from their members.
