About the exhibition

A Kind of Exchange is a pop-up exhibition which complements our new display, Mrs Coade’s Stone: cast to last.
In collaboration with the Royal College of Arts, discover the works of 12 artists working in innovative new materials:

The exhibition is inspired by ‘Coade stone’, the focus of our new display. Coade stone is a type of artificial stone used in some of the Bank’s architecture. From 14 September, you’ll be able to see this new free display in the Museum.
On 17 September, we’ll be staying open after-hours for a Late event which showcases this pop-up exhibition, the perfect chance to soak up the show at your own pace. Plus, we’ll be running a series of activities related to the theme of innovative materials. Please ensure you have booked your free ticket for this event.
You can also swing by the Museum the weekend of 19 and 20 September to see the display, as we open our doors for the Open House Festival. Please note, we are open 11am to 4pm on the Saturday and Sunday, rather than our usual opening times of 10am to 5pm.
Essential Information
- The exhibition is free to viist, with no booking required.
- Booking is required for our Museum late on 17 September. Please book via our events page. In the event that online bookings for this event have sold out, you may still be able to attend by collecting a ticket at the door. Please note that walk in tickets are offered on a first come, first served basis and depend on venue capacity on the night.
- We’ll also be opening on 19 and 20 September for the Open House Festival. No booking is required, but please note the different opening hours.
- Please note there is airport-style security at the Museum's entrance.
