When: Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October, 12pm to 1pm
Step into the world of 1700s coffee houses and discover how they helped shape the insurance industry. In this interactive storytelling workshop, children can take part in bringing the story of Thomas Bowery to life. Encounter pirate invasions and the Great Fire of London while discovering the lesser-known history of marine insurance.
This session will involve some interaction, including the opportunity to act out scenes, and is suitable for children aged between 5 to 12 (but everyone is welcome!).

Book for the storytelling workshop
Essential information:
- This event is suitable for ages 5-12, but all ages are welcome to join.
- The workshops are free to attend, but booking is required.
- If you were unable to book a ticket, you may still be able to attend on a walk-in basis. However, please note that walk-ins are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on staff capacity once ticketholders have been admitted. Attendance capacity will be determined by the member of staff delivering the session.
- Children must have a responsible adult accompanying them.
- Each session will begin at 12pm in the Museum's Learning Space. If you arrive late, you may not be able to attend the workshop. We encourage visitors to arrive at 11.45am so we can begin our sessions promptly.
- Please note, there is airport-style security at the Museum’s entrance.
