About the event

When: Saturday 11 November, 11am to 4pm (last entry 3.30pm)
Join in the fun at a rare weekend opening as part of the Lord Mayor’s Show! Watch the parade as it passes the Bank of England, then explore our Museum and enjoy a variety of activities for all the family, including face painting, crafts, and storytelling sessions.

Free family activities

Visit the museum to make a gold bar money box, complete activity sheets, and get your face painted!

Face painting will be available from 11.30am to 3.30pm.  All activities, including face painting, are free. No need to book ahead.

Storytelling for Families

1.30pm, and 2.30pm

Deep beneath the Bank of England there is a vault full of gold. Impenetrable they say…no gold has ever been stolen…but does that mean that no one has ever broken in?

Join us for the tale of a gold vault break-in at the Bank of England. Could it be true, or is it a work of fiction…? We’ll let you decide!

Children aged 7 to 11 are invited to join our resident storyteller as storytelling, drama and role-play bring to life different aspects of the Bank’s history and provides an opportunity to learn more about some of our key roles and responsibilities.

Each storytelling session lasts approximately 20 minutes and children need to be accompanied by an adult. The event is free, but booking is essential. Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of your session start time.
