The Office for National Statistics (ONS) will be hosting an Economic Forum special event in collaboration with the Bank of England on Monday 6 March 2017.

Event date: 6 March 2017, 9:30 - 12:30

How can we better understand the UK’s financial stability? How big is the UK hedge fund sector? Who owns government debt? Who is financing the current deficit? What type of credit is fuelling the growth in consumer debt?

To answer these questions and more the Office for National Statistics (ONS) will be hosting an Economic Forum special event in collaboration with the Bank of England on Monday 6 March 2017.

This event, introduced by Andy Haldane, Chief Economist at the Bank of England, will explore the various uses of flow of funds statistics and seek user views on their future development. Topics will include; the vision for the UK’s flow of funds, progress and early results and the use of flow of funds in understanding the UK’s financial and current account balance. A final panel session will seek feedback on the progress and priorities for the developments of UK flow of funds, with the panel including Nick Vaughan (Chief Economist, ONS) and Oliver Burrows (Chief Data Officer, Bank of England).
