The third annual Workshop of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) Research Cluster on Monetary Economics

The workshop aims to foster awareness of ongoing policy‐relevant studies on monetary economics and to stimulate collaboration across the ESCB. The workshop is open to ESCB researchers only. Both theoretical and empirical contributions are welcome. Relevant topics include but are not restricted to:

  • challenges for monetary policy in a low‐growth, low‐inflation environment;
  • monetary policy strategies and operational frameworks in the “new normal”;
  • transmission, effectiveness and side‐effects of unconventional monetary measures;
  • expectation formation and monetary policy communication;
    monetary policy normalisation;
  • the role of agent heterogeneity in the monetary transmission mechanism;
  • monetary policy, banks and financial markets;
  • interactions among monetary, fiscal, structural and macroprudential policies;
  • drivers of actual and expected inflation.
