About the workshop

Banca d’Italia, the Bank of England and Banque de France are jointly organizing the 12th edition of their International Macroeconomics Workshop on 13 November 2026. The keynote lecture will be given by Oleg Itskhoki (Harvard University). The workshop will take place in London at the Bank of England.
This edition focuses on New Risks in International Macro and Finance. We invite theoretical and empirical research covering the following topics:
- Global imbalances, domestic macro drivers and the role of trade and industrial policies
- Geopolitics and the international transmission of commodity shocks
- The future of the international financial system and digital currencies
- Dominant currencies and safe assets in a more fragmented world
- The international spillovers of AI expansion: asset valuations and trade in capital goods and digital services
- Cross-border dimensions of rising sovereign risks
The deadline for submitting a paper is 28 June 2026. Please submit full papers via the google form. Authors of selected papers will be contacted by 17 July 2026. The submitting author is expected to present. Financial support for travel expenses and accommodation for academic speakers is available (CEPR guidelines apply).
