Gifts received by certain Bank staff in 2024 and 2025

Freedom of Information rules mean that, as a public authority, the Bank of England is obliged to disclose certain types of information, both proactively and on request.

Date: 9 June 2026

Disclosure:

Bank staff are often presented gifts as part of their official duties by conference organisers and host organisations, in the UK and abroad. Receipt of such gifts is managed under the Bank's policy on entertainment and gifts.

The table below contains details of gifts received by Andrew Bailey, Dave Ramsden, Huw Pill, Nathanaël Benjamin, Sam Woods and Sarah Breeden in 2024 and 2025. At the time of the FOIA request, the Bank did not hold complete data for December 2025. Therefore, the table does not include gifts declared in this month.

Gifts donated to the Bank’s Community Team are repurposed for use at internal fundraising activities. For example, gifts are used as prizes or incentives to encourage participation in the Bank’s fundraising events. These activities help to raise money for the Bank’s charities of the year.
