ChatBoE is our experimental AI chatbot. It answers questions using public information from the Bank’s web pages but cannot offer legal or financial advice.

ChatBoE is our experimental AI chatbot.

ChatBoE allows you to ask questions about the Bank and will use information from our public web pages to provide information in response to your queries.

ChatBoE is an experimental tool that is still under development.

We reserve the right to withdraw ChatBoE at any point without prior notice.

 

Terms of use

CHATBOE CANNOT OFFER ADVICE, INCLUDING LEGAL OR FINANCIAL ADVICE.

The chatbot is provided by ChatThing.AI and is powered by ChaptGPT from OpenAI.

If you use ChatBoE the contents of your chat will be shared with ChatThing.AI to enable ChatBoE to interpret and answer questions. You can read more about ChatThing.AI privacy policy.

We will retain the contents of chats for a duration of two years for training and analysis purposes. We may also record statistical information about use of the service but this will not contain personally identifiable information.

We ask you to not enter any personal information when using ChatBoE, but if you choose to do so then your information would be shared with ChatThing.AI and will be processed in line with their privacy policy linked above and will be processed in line with the Bank’s Privacy notice.

ChatBoE is not intended for commercial use. It may not be used by an individual or business as part of a free or paid service without prior authorisation from the Bank of England.

We ask you to not use or interact with the service in a manner that (i) infringes or violates intellectual property, or other legal rights of any person; (ii) violates any law or regulation; or (iii) is harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, defamatory.

While the ChatBoE aims to offer accurate and helpful responses, its information may not always be exhaustive, up-to-date, or tailored to individual circumstances, and to the fullest extent possible by law, the Bank does not accept any liability got loss or damage, whether direct, indirect or consequential, resulting from the use of the inability to use ChatBoE. Users are encouraged to verify the information provided by ChatBoE. Use of ChatBoE is subject to our Legal, Privacy and Cookies notices.
