The Governor invited members to vote on the proposition that the repo rate should be reduced by 25 basis points to 3.75%. Seven members of the Committee (the Governor, Mervyn King, Christopher Allsopp, Kate Barker, Charles Bean, Marian Bell and Stephen Nickell) voted in favour. Andrew Large and Paul Tucker voted against, preferring to maintain the repo rate at 4.0%.
