The MPC voted 5 - 4 to maintain Bank Rate at 3.50%.

The Governor invited members of the Committee to vote on the proposition that the repo rate should be maintained at 3.50%. Five members (the Governor, Rachel Lomax, Charles Bean, Marian Bell and Richard Lambert) voted in favour. Four members (Andrew Large, Kate Barker, Stephen Nickell and Paul Tucker) voted against, preferring an increase in the repo rate of 25 basis points.
