Appointment at the Bank of England

The Bank of England is pleased to announce that Stephen Brown has been appointed Head of Internal Audit with effect from 4 July 2005.

The position reports jointly to the Governor and to the Audit Committee of the Court of Directors.

Stephen has over sixteen years experience in financial sector internal audit, gained in both the United Kingdom and the United States, at the First National Bank of Chicago, Bank One and most recently JPMorgan Chase. He has held a variety of senior internal audit positions specialising in capital markets and payment systems. Stephen read physics at Durham University and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
