There will be a press conference, webcast live, from 12:45 hrs (BST) until 13:45 hrs (BST).
As a part of the new arrangements, a concise summary covering the MPC’s policy decision and the main elements of the Minutes will now be produced. The summary will now be published alongside every policy decision made by the MPC.
In months where an Inflation Report is also produced, as is the case on 6 August, this summary will additionally cover the main elements of the Inflation Report, replacing the Report’s Overview. The MPC’s fan charts for GDP and CPI inflation will be found in Section 5 of the Report, as well as on the Bank’s Inflation Report webpage.
The structure of Sections 1-4 of the Report will also be adjusted to match more closely the structure of the MPC’s meetings and minutes. Section 1 will cover global economic and financial developments including commodity prices, Section 2 will cover demand and output including money and credit, Section 3 will cover supply and the labour market, while Section 4 will cover costs and prices.
