Andrew Haldane, Executive Director, Monetary Analysis and Statistics, and Chief Economist at the Bank of England, has been reappointed for a further three-year term as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee with effect from 12 June 2020.

Note to editors

As provided for by the Bank of England Act 1998, Mr Haldane has been reappointed to the Monetary Policy Committee by Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England, after consultation with the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Mr Haldane was first appointed to the MPC on 1 June 2014. This term expired on 31 May 2017. Mr Haldane was subsequently reappointed to the MPC for a further three-year term on 12 June 2017. This term expires on 11 June 2020.
