High loan to income (LTI) lending

Published on 14 October 2026

From 14 October 2026, the PRA is publishing the aggregate high LTI flowfootnote [1] figure – the share of new regulated mortgage contractsfootnote [2] at LTIs at or greater than 4.5 times income.footnote [3] As set out in SS2/26 – High loan to income lending, this figure will be published each quarter, to inform firms’ high LTI planning. To ensure that the aggregate flow remains consistent with the 15% limit, as per the FPC recommendation, there may be instances where the PRA and FCA (collectively, ‘the regulators’) expect firms to gradually reduce their high LTI flow towards 15%.

Adjustment expectations

The regulators have not set any current expectations on firms to reduce their high LTI flow.
