This analysis begins with a discussion of the figures for each sector during the second quarter of 1967 and some preliminary comment on the third. Experience of the run of quarterly figures makes it possible to apply rough seasonal adjustments to changes in most of the main groups of assets and liabilities of each sector, and the discussion is based on seasonally adjusted figures, except where it is stated that unadjusted figures are being described. However, the quarterly statistics presented in Table D are not seasonally adjusted. The second part of the analysis is a more detailed account of the transactions of financial institutions (other than the banks) during the year ended 30th June 1967.
