Introduction
Complementing the AI Consortium and the AI-related efforts under CMORG, the Bank of England launched the Frontier AI Information Sharing Forum (FAISF) in July 2026 to bring together systemically important deposit takers and financial market infrastructures in UK-headquartered groups alongside the FCA, HMT and the NCSC to facilitate the safe and responsible sharing of information on the use of frontier AI for cyber defence across the UK financial sector.
These articles do not introduce any new or additional regulatory expectations. Instead, the publication of key thematic findings intends to improve firms’ understanding of emerging issues and common challenges presented by frontier AI. Given the pace of development, we acknowledge that some content will become outdated over time. The articles are intended primarily for cybersecurity and AI practitioners, while also supporting wider discussion of frontier AI within the financial sector.
