Biography

Edu is a senior researcher in the Authorisations, Regulatory Technology & International Supervision (ARTIS) Directorate at the Bank of England, where he previously served as policy advisor in the Financial Stability Strategy and Risk Directorate. 

His research interests include market-based finance and its links with banks, sentiment analysis and systemic risk, as well as macro-financial linkages and cycles, focusing on innovation in methods and policy applications. 

Prior to joining us in November 2022, Edu held expert roles at the European Central Bank, the Central Bank of Ireland, and the European Stability Mechanism, contributing to areas including monetary policy, capital markets, stress testing, and business cycle analysis. 

He holds a PhD in Banking and Finance from Universidad de Granada (Spain), where he was a full-time lecturer in economics and participated in competitive research programmes, while collaborating with Madrid-based think tank Funcas.
