Biography

Galina is a Research Economist in our Current Economic Conditions Division. She joined us in October 2019. Her research interests are in international macroeconomics and finance, applied econometrics, and forecasting.

Galina’s research deals with global financial cycles, monetary policy transmission and cross-country spill-overs based on time-varying dynamic factor models, FAVAR and panel SVAR models. She is also interested in forecasting methods and business cycle analysis.

Galina holds a PhD from Kiel University. Previously, Galina worked as an Economist in the forecasting team at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (2015-2019). She also worked at the European Central Bank (April to June 2019) and at the Centre for European Policy Studies (2011-12).
